A bank has launched payment for purchases using QR codes through the T-Bank Pay service in Egypt, Kenya and Tanzania, RBC reports. Transactions do not require opening a foreign currency account: rubles are converted at the bank's internal rate without additional fees. The decision was made against the background of increasing tourist flows and business activity - more than 1.2 million Russians visited Egypt in the first half of 2026, and the volume of transfers from the Russian Federation to African countries has increased almost 35 times since the fall of 2024.
