French bank Societe Generale's third-quarter net profit rose 24% year-on-year to 1.89 billion euros ($2.1 billion), Reuters reports. The credit institution's total revenue increased by 8% to 7.17 billion euros. The growth was driven by the investment division, whose revenues increased by 13% on the back of a record 46% increase in share trading revenues, which allowed the bank to offset a 21% decrease in revenues from fixed income.
