Quick Retail, which owns the Uniqlo brand, has abandoned plans to raise the price of socks in Japan by 100 yen ($0.63) due to a negative reaction from customers amid inflation, Bloomberg reports. Less than two weeks after the announcement, the retailer reversed its decision to raise the price of the base model by 290 yen and maintained discounts for purchases of three pairs or more, in the face of consumer outrage on social media.
