The London Metal Exchange (LME) is looking into the possibility of tokenizing a metal stock in Hong Kong for use as collateral for financing, Reuters reports. The initiative is linked to the region's new five-year economic plan aimed at developing its status as a commodity hub. It is expected that the creation of digital assets backed by real metal will attract investors and traders, as well as provide the exchange with a new source of income.
