American retailer Sprouts Farmers Market lowered its annual forecast, expecting a 1.7% decline in comparable sales in 2026 instead of a 0.5% increase previously forecast, Bloomberg reports. Following the publication of the financial statements, the company's shares fell by 20% in additional trading. The deterioration in the indicators is related to the outbreak of cyclosporiasis due to contaminated lettuce, as well as to a general decrease in consumer activity.
