The US Maritime Administration has approved a license to build the $8.2 billion ST LNG deepwater LNG terminal, Reuters reports. The project off the coast of Texas will include four production trains with a total capacity of 8.4 million tons of liquefied natural gas per year. Construction of the facility is expected to begin in 2027 and operation will take place in 2029. The decision was made against the background of the US government's plans to accelerate the development of energy infrastructure in the country by simplifying the granting of permits.
