The US Department of Homeland Security has added Chinese biotech companies BGI Group, BGI Genomics and MGI Tech to its sanctions list as part of the Uighur Forced Labor Prevention Act, Bloomberg reports. The decision actually blocks the import of products from these factories to the American market. According to the agency's data, the registry already includes 190 organizations, while the share of American states in BGI's revenue for 2025 was less than 2%, and MGI's share was about 8%.
