Chinese authorities have officially approved the launch of a regional electricity market in the south to expand trade and integrate renewable sources, Bloomberg reports. The daily trading volume on the platform reaches 4 TWh. To accommodate the variable output of solar and wind power plants, the transaction settlement period has been reduced to 15 minutes. By 2030, Beijing plans to integrate regional pilot platforms into a single national trading platform.
