Attendance at shopping centers in Russia in January-September 2026 decreased by 2.8%, writes "Consumption Level" with reference to data from Focus Technologies. In Moscow the decrease in traffic was 2.9%, in St. Petersburg - 4.1%. Experts attribute the decrease to the citizens' desire to save money, reducing spontaneous purchases and lack of fuel in the summer. The situation is also complicated by retail labor shortages, with market participants expecting the upcoming November sales to fail to reverse this trend.
