EU leaders expect to agree on a new aid package for Ukraine in the form of a €45 billion loan by the end of 2026, Politico reports. Funds guaranteed by the EU budget should cover the country's needs in 2027. The initiative has complicated internal negotiations: the Czech Republic and Slovakia have already refused to participate in the program, and Hungary may take a similar position. In response, supporters of support in Kiev allow a reduction in payments from EU funds to countries that do not want to finance this loan.
