Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has proposed using cryptocurrencies and blockchain to protect the banking sector from possible international sanctions, Reuters reports. The Bank of Israel criticized the initiative and said that digital assets cannot be used as a way to circumvent restrictions. More than 100 economists and political opponents of the prime minister also spoke out against the plan, warning of the risks of rising unemployment and outflow of investments.
