The National Bank of Pakistan raised its interest rate by 50 basis points to 12% for the first time since April, Bloomberg reports. The decision was made against the background of increasing inflation risks due to the conflict in the Middle East and the increase in oil prices above $100 per barrel. According to the regulator, price pressure from energy and food supply will delay the return of inflation in the country to the target range of 5-7%.
