The Association of Banks of Russia proposed to the Ministry of Digital Development that it is mandatory to pre-install root certificates of the National Certification Authority on Russian smartphones, computers and operating systems. According to Frank Media, the medium is necessary to operate banking applications. Experts note the technical difficulties of implementing the initiative: iOS users cannot independently add credentials to the system storage, and on Android their installation does not guarantee trust from all programs.
