From January to September 2026, the share of ordinary Russian whiskey in retail sales increased 4.7 times and reached 17.6%, Kommersant writes. During this period, 611.6 thousand deciliters of the drink were sold. Market participants attribute the sharp increase in demand to the introduction of a minimum retail price from the beginning of the year: for regular whiskey aged less than three years it was 605 rubles per 0.5 liter, while older drinks were equal to cognac with a minimum price of 755 rubles.
