A monument to the great Russian icon painter Dionysius and his sons Vladimir and Feodosius was solemnly opened in Prapontovo. The opening of the monument was one of the main events of the second phase of the improvement of the "Dionysius Beach" park. The project won the 9th All-Russian competition for the best projects to create a comfortable urban environment. Together with the chapel of St. George the Victorious, the statue forms one architectural ensemble. The sculptural composition was installed on the shore of Lake Ferapontovskoye, near the famous monastery. More than five hundred years ago, Dionysius and his sons painted the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. The unique ensemble of frescoes has survived to this day.
