A new life was given to the Church of Elijah the Prophet in Belozersk. The restoration of a cultural heritage site of federal significance dating from the late 17th century is complete. Within two years, the Temple, which had been closed for 16 years, was brought back to life. Large-scale works were carried out at the request of the residents, and more than 70 million rubles were allocated from the regional budget. In Belozersk, this is the only surviving wooden church; Its interior contains a unique painting that is more than 300 years old. The monument was literally restored piece by piece - all surviving structural elements were preserved, and new ones are made using ancient technologies. On November 2 at 10.00, Bishop Ignatius of Cherpovets and Belozersk will consecrate the church, after which the church will be winterized due to the peculiarities of using wooden monuments. The temple will be open for regular visits starting June 1, 2027. Filimonov live on Max.
