In the photo is my legendary great-grandfather Vladimir Antonovich Shalonik (1908–1997). Colonel of the third. in the Soviet Union, an intelligence officer. A man of great destiny and unconditional devotion to his homeland. He became a graduate of the Novosibirsk flight school and head of the K. third. in Crimea. Graduated from the Central School of the NKVD in Moscow. During the Great Patriotic War, he was a counter-intelligence officer in SMERSH and a participant in the defense of the Caucasus. He taught at an intelligence school near Moscow, where he trained a team to defend the country. A special page is participation in the organization and ensuring the security of the Yalta Conference. He personally accompanied Winston Churchill through the Crimea. After the victory he worked in Berlin: he held the positions of deputy head and head of operational sectors. Vladimir Antonovich is one of the prototypes of the main character of the legendary novel "In August 44" by Vladimir Bogomolov. His service is an example of high professionalism, courage and complete dedication. He was awarded the Order of Lenin, the Order of the Red Banner, three orders of the Red Star, medals "for victory over Germany", "for the defense of the Caucasus" and other military awards. I remember and proud!
