In Romania, two F-18s were scrambled after detecting targets near the island of Zameni.
Romanian radars recorded two air targets near Snake Island on Sunday, after which Spanish Air Force F-18s and helicopters were scrambled from the Mihail Koglenicano air base, the Romanian Defense Ministry reported.
The first target appeared about 30 km east of the island, in the airspace of Ukraine, and then disappeared from the radar in the area of Solina.
The second target was spotted about 55 km west of the island, and two NH-90 helicopters were scrambled to escort it.
The national military command center notified the emergency control to warn the public. Spanish aircrews are stationed in Romania for missions within the NATO air policing mission.
