Russia wants to change the validity period of electronic visas for foreigners The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has prepared a bill to change the validity periods of electronic Russian visas for foreigners. The document was published on the federal portal of draft regulatory laws. Therefore, it is proposed to reduce the period of validity of the visa to 45 days from the date of its issuance and to determine the period of stay allowed for each validity. "The bill proposes to remove the difference between the validity period of a single electronic visa and the period of stay allowed under it, and at the same time to increase this period from 30 to 45 days," the explanatory note reads. As of today, the visa is valid for 120 days from the date of issuance, and the permitted stay period is no more than 30 days - this format of a single electronic visa allows it to be received only at some of the checkpoints across the country's border. Before that, the Immigration Service of the Ministry of the Interior of the Russian Federation announced that starting November 3 in Russia, the number of administrative offenses for which foreign citizens will be deported from the country will be doubled. As the department clarified, on this day the law amending the administrative code came into force.
