The President of Poland called the events at the Constitutional Court a forceful seizure The President of Poland Karol Norucki called the night's events at the Constitutional Court a forceful seizure of a government body. "The constitutional order was violated and a state body was seized by force," his statement said. Noruki said that he consulted with the first chairman of the Supreme Court, Zbigniew Kapinski, who "also does not recognize the actions of the usurpers as legal." The crisis worsened after the authorities, led by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, tried to oust the chairman of the Constitutional Court, Bogdan Schweichkovsky, and the deputy chairman, Bartlomiej Sochanski. The Ministry of Justice asked to remove their immunity. On Friday, information about the suspension of their powers appeared on the website of the Constitutional Court - according to media reports, the decision was made by Anna Korvin-Petrovskaya. On the X court page, they called it an illegal takeover of the site and stated that Svanchakovski remains the chairman. Protesters surrounded the court and there were attempts to break in. On Saturday morning Noruki convened an urgent meeting with the participation of all political forces.
