It is possible that the services of Apple and Microsoft will be blocked in Russia. Experts interviewed by the media call this a possible result of the inclusion of companies in the register of information dissemination organizers (ORI). According to Roskomandzor, they have been on the list since October 2nd. Participants on this list are required to store information about users and messages exchanged in Russia for up to three years. In addition, companies cannot delete the content of communications, including text, voice and video messages, for up to six months. At the request of government officials, this data must be transferred to the authorities. Expert opinion: Maxim Ali, a partner at the Tiyat law firm, said that the sanctions for violating this regime are severe: fines can reach millions of rubles and even a percentage of the company's turnover. But the most important thing is that the resources of such companies can be blocked. It is quite possible that this is the first preparatory step for blocking Microsoft and Apple services: the likelihood that they will transfer data to law enforcement authorities, as required by Russian legislation, is not particularly high, the expert concluded.
