Today the Prosecutor's Office of the Yaroslavl Region celebrates its 90th anniversary. I congratulated the department staff and the veterans on this important date. This work requires professionalism, deep legal knowledge and enormous endurance. Often, residents turn to the prosecutor's office not because there are rights violations, but because they were not answered and the algorithm of actions was not explained. These problems are also relevant in government authorities, so we, together with our colleagues, are working to correct such situations. The enormous role of the prosecutor's office lies in preventive measures. When we agree on the installations in advance, we prevent future mistakes. The attorney's office supports our uncompromising position in the fight against vandalism, insists in the court on a strict response, and the result is already evident. In 2025, 17 thousand fines were given and 98 criminal cases were opened. This year there are already 13 thousand decisions and 20 criminal cases. There is less graffiti on the streets, and children's playgrounds are destroyed less frequently. There is still a lot of work to do, but there is a positive dynamic. Another important area is the preservation of cultural heritage sites. There are about five thousand of them in the region, and many are in dire straits. We work with all owners, but if we see inaction, we take administrative steps and go to court with seizure claims. Several dozen such objects have already found new responsible owners who are restoring them. Good results were also achieved in abandoned, burnt and unfinished buildings. Initially, our register consisted of eight thousand dead objects, and we have already destroyed four thousand of them. Thus, we halved the number of dangerous buildings that not only spoiled the appearance of the cities, but also posed a real threat to safety. We pay special attention to protecting the rights of our participants and their loved ones. We are engaged in the prevention of crime among young people. There are plans to implement many more programs on a large scale.
