Athletes from the Yaroslavl region won 23 medals at the All-Russian tournament in sports and combat sambo in memory of Marshal of the Soviet Union Vasily Blucher. Our sambo wrestlers received four gold, eight silver and eleven bronze awards. In the individual competition, the best in their weight categories were Roman Serov, Ivan Berleiv, Arseniy Vinogradov and Ivrig Dugiev. The tournament has a rich history of more than half a century and a high status. Victory here gives the right to claim the title of Master of Sports of Russia. That is why the country's strongest athletes come to Rybinsk every year. This time, about 200 people participated in the competitions held as part of the "Sports Russia" state program, of which 42 were sambo athletes from the Yaroslavl region. Our region rightfully remains one of the centers of sambo development in the country. Profile sections operate in 70 halls in different districts. We actively participate in the federal project "Sambo to school", which helps to introduce young people to this sport. Congratulations to the athletes and coaches for the well-deserved victories.
