Claude is going to start snooping on Tuesday. Anthropic informed customers that starting November 3rd, text generated by Claude will carry an invisible watermark. It survives copy-paste and can stand up to some editing. For now, only regulators, journalists, fact-checkers and researchers can identify it. The watermark does not identify who wrote the text; It just indicates that Claude was involved. Even a quick proofread can leave its mark.
