As of October 30th, most of the relevant balancing pools are moving to cancellations only mode.
Users can still remove leaks.
But the affected pools will no longer function as normal active markets, and the balance protocol bug bounty coverage also ends today.
A limited number of V3 balance pools requested by ecosystem partners may continue to operate until November 30th.
The change follows the approval of BIP-928, which established an orderly shutdown process after the Mazen government rejected an alternative proposal to divide the protocol.
For BAL token holders, there is no treasure distribution yet to claim.
Mazen says the first planned distribution round is expected to begin around the end of May 2027, with exact details to come later.
