ENSv2 is now live on the ETHEREUM MAINNET service where Ethereum has officially launched one of the biggest upgrades in its history. ENSv2 is live. The new system replaces the original ENS architecture with a hierarchical registry and more precise permissions, allowing individual names to act as records on their own chain. This means that communities and companies can create and manage entire naming structures without handing over control of everything to a single administrator. ENS also launched a revamped application for registration and name management and a new Explorer for checking ownership, resolution and protocol configuration. The size is already significant. ENS claims to now support THAN 36 MILLION NAMES across the .eth and ecosystem, with integrated name resolution in over 600 applications. Existing shareholders do not need to migrate immediately. The current names continue to work, and users can upgrade to ENSv2 when they want access to the new capabilities. The DAO vote earlier this month. Now upgrade is no longer an offer. It runs on the Ethereum Mainnet. @EumNews.
