LIDO now allows anyone to run validating devices with up to 2,048 ETH.
Lido has launched a new permissionless staking module called 0x02 CSM, which allows independent operators to run Ethereum validations with a maximum effective balance of 2,048 ETH.
This is way above the traditional 32 ETH validation model.
Operators do not need to provide the full 2,048 ETH themselves. The required bond starts at 32 ETH for the first validator and 30 ETH for each additional one, while Lido can over-allocate the protocol over time.
At the maximum effective balance, Lido estimates that the model can provide a capital multiplier of about 2.26 times compared to a solo bet.
The rollout will be gradual, starting with about 32 authentication keys. The older Community Staking module 0x01 will continue to run alongside it.
Ethereums authentication model is evolving. One validator no longer has to be exactly 32 ETH..
