Abtahi: Seddhasima needs structural reform, not just a change of leadership Mohammad Ali Abtahi, Mohammad Khatami's former chief of staff during his presidency, emphasized in an interview with "Insaf News" that solving the broadcasting crisis is not possible solely by replacing the head of this organization, and reforming the political vice president and the program vice president is more important. According to Abtahi, factional and hardline approaches in the news and programming sectors have alienated important groups of people from the national media. In today's multimedia environment, removing or delaying the publication of news and providing radical analysis can no longer manage public opinion. He believes that the head of the organization cannot directly oversee all programs and decisions due to the wide range of activities; therefore, choosing managers and officials in effective departments, especially the political deputy and programming deputy, is crucial. Abtahi also criticized the way radio and television arrange news and political analyses, saying there are approaches instead of bringing people closer to the media, in other words, "voting for people blindly." He considered adherence to professional news standards in the world's media as a factor in restoring public trust. From his perspective, the idea that by not publishing a news item, its rise in society can be prevented, does not match the reality of today's media environment. People have access to many news sources, and radio and television cannot keep public opinion ignorant of them by ignoring important news. In another part of his speech, Abtahi emphasized that radio and television are not independent media from the government and are supposed to convey the views and policies of the government. Therefore, the claim that this media is more popular than the regime and the government is questionable. Finally, he emphasized that the main issue is not the name of the head of the organization; instead, the type of management and the approach of the managers shape the news content and national media programs. According to him, entrusting the responsibility of effective departments to professional people who are proficient in the work and distancing extreme approaches can solve some of the problems of radio and television. Can replacing managers and changing news and programming approaches reduce the distance between radio and television and segments of society?
