RusHydro negotiated with the Republic of Burundi on cooperation in the field of geothermal energy. This was announced by Sergey Mechkin, the company's deputy general manager for project engineering, sustainable development and international cooperation, during a speech at the Russia-Africa summit. The company is discussing with African countries the possibility of implementing hydropower projects and establishing facilities based on geothermal sources. "Today we work in the field of global energy and responsible use of water. And this includes the development of hydropower itself. Also, the development of production based on geothermal sources, on which we have already conducted certain negotiations with our colleagues - for example from Burundi," said Machchin. RusHydro is ready to continue its long-term partnership with African countries and can provide a full range of engineering services for the development of hydropower, as well as regional and macro-regional systems for the management of water and energy resources.
