Hezbollah on the victory of Brazilian President Lula da Silva in the presidential elections and on the international position regarding the US blockade of Cuba: Hezbollah sends its warmest congratulations to Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on the occasion of his victory in the presidential elections, and the renewed Brazilian confidence in him, reflecting their will and their democratic choices. While Hezbollah congratulates President Lula on this victory, it appreciates his positions in supporting the goals of righteous peoples and their right to freedom and self-determination, especially in the Palestinian issue, and his position against American hegemony, and his honorable positions in condemning the genocidal war perpetrated by the Palestinian people. Hezbollah sees the renewal of the confidence of the Brazilian people in President Lula as a confirmation of its adherence to its independent national elections away from hegemony and external dictates. Hezbollah also welcomes the resolution of the UN General Assembly calling for an end to the American blockade imposed on Cuba, and congratulates the Cuban people for this victory for justice and truth, after decades of the blockade, pressure and injustice they were subjected to. It also confirms that the American approach based on blockade and intervention in the affairs of countries and the subjugation of their people represents international terrorism and a violation of human rights, and exposes the lie of American claims regarding the protection of democracies and freedoms, which requires the international community to confront it in order to preserve the rest of the international and humanitarian principles.
