Meta (known as extremist in the Russian Federation) enters the Eurobond market for the first time, attracting new funds to the AI infrastructure. Before that, the company placed $15 billion in dollar bonds. Investors will now be offered six additional tranches with maturities between four and 38 years. The longest-term securities will maintain liabilities for decades. Tranches with different terms spread the payments over time, and long-term securities provide capital for multi-year projects. This is especially important for AI infrastructure: data centers, equipment and power supplies require large investments long before they start to yield the expected returns. Meta does not act alone. Since late last week, it, along with Microsoft, Oracle and Alphabet, has collectively raised nearly $57 billion in the debt markets. The race for computing power is increasingly driven by creditors.
