North Korean authorities have denied FBI allegations of involvement in the theft of more than $6 billion from cryptocurrency exchange Binance. The head of the department of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party, Kim Yu-jong, called Washington's statements "political provocation" and an attempt to present the country as a "state of cybercrime."

US intelligence agencies have previously blamed Pyongyang for the hack, which they describe as the biggest theft in the history of crypto platforms. The North Korean side completely disputes this version. Therefore, we are talking not only about an alleged cybercrime, but also about a direct clash of the official positions of the two countries.

The magnitude of the alleged damages makes the allegations especially serious: more than $6 billion, an amount that could have ramifications far beyond a single trading platform. At the same time, the FBI statement remains an accusation from the American side, and Pyongyang's response remains its official denial. The contradiction between these positions cannot be resolved with a single political statement.
