The Chairman of the Supreme Court of Russia, Igor Krasnov, said that in the medium term, artificial intelligence technologies will become available to all courts in the country. The application is expected to be part of the work of the judicial system, but key decisions will not be transferred to algorithms.
The main condition is the ability to verify any result obtained through AI. This means that the court must understand on what basis the system created the answer and be able to verify it. An automatic conclusion by itself cannot serve as a sufficient justification for the court's decision.
Krasnov emphasized that the evaluation of the evidence and the final decision should remain in the hands of the judge alone. Therefore, the expansion of digital tools does not change the distribution of responsibility for justice. The scope of the upcoming application is significant: we are talking about all the ships, and not about individual test sites. Quality control of AI results becomes a priority.
