The Pentagon and Lockheed Martin announced a ten-year framework agreement for the production of 850 American F-35 fighter jets. The cost of the plan and the terms of the future contract have not yet been disclosed. The agreement includes not only the assembly of aircraft, but also the supply of initial spare parts, modernization kits and technical support for ten years. At the same time, orders from foreign buyers are taken into account. Lockheed Martin plans to keep its overall production rate at 156 vehicles per year. The company intends to invest at least 7 billion dollars of its own money in expanding the capacity and sustainability of the supply chain. A long ordering horizon makes it possible to plan in advance the purchase of components, plant utilization and contractor work, instead of checking the entire plan every year.
