The total wealth of the richest Russian businessmen has decreased by more than 28 billion dollars since the beginning of 2026. This is the Bloomberg Billionaires Index estimate based on October results. The president of Norilsk Nickel Vladimir Potanin lost the most in the ranking: a drop of 8.1 billion dollars brought his fortune to 21.6 billion. Among the big losses were also Mikhail Prokhorov - 4.86 billion dollars, Mikhail Friedman - 3.8 billion dollars. At the other end of the list was the owner of Severstal, Alexey Mordashov: his fortune decreased by 515 million dollars, to 27.8 billion. We are talking about the dollar value of stocks and other assets, which the index recalculates taking into account market valuations. These amounts do not mean that entrepreneurs took tens of billions out of the business or lost tens of billions in cash. The index reflects the change in the price of the capital they own. However, the fall in valuations shows how sensitive the value of Russia's largest capital remains to the revaluation of companies and their assets.
