The Federal Tax Service transferred the supervision of 5,500 Moscow companies to regional inspectors. Factories continue to operate in the capital, but their reporting can now be controlled from other regions of Russia. The decision expands the extraterritorial principle of the tax administration. From 2019 it is used for on-site tests, and since 2026 it has been expanded to mass table tests, which are carried out without visiting the company. The change allows the Federal Tax Service to distribute verification work between territorial divisions regardless of the business registration address. For a company, this means that its documents can be analyzed by supervision outside its normal area, although the tax requirements system itself remains unified. The Federal Tax Service emphasizes that the taxpayer interaction procedure does not change. Thus, we are not talking about transferring organizations to other regions, but about redistributing control functions within a centralized agency.
