Ukraine's military expenditures in 2027 may reach $173 billion, or about $473 million per day. This estimate is provided by Izvestia based on TASS calculations. We are talking about the possible cost level, not the approved budget amount. In 2026, the average was $300 million per day, and is expected to rise to $370 million by the end of the year. If the forecast for 2027 is confirmed, the daily cost of military needs will be almost 58% higher than the average of the previous year. The scope of the planned expenses is particularly noticeable against the background of ongoing financing problems. President Vladimir Zelensky previously spoke of a shortfall of 3.5 billion euros to cover financial needs until the end of this year. Therefore, the discussion of future military expenditures occurs at the same time as the search for funds for current obligations. Even if the existing funding sources are maintained, increasing the expenditure to 173 billion dollars will require additional budgetary resources.
