The British government intends to allocate an additional 20.4 billion pounds to the sovereign wealth fund and the British Development Bank. Finance Minister John Healy will present a solution in the new budget. The funds are intended to finance projects in the field of artificial intelligence, the defense industry and green energy. According to the planned distribution, the National Welfare Fund will receive 15.4 billion pounds, and the British Development Bank will receive another 5 billion. The funds will flow for several years through development institutions that support businesses and infrastructure. The British Ministry of Finance predicts that the program will help create about 100,000 jobs by 2035. This is an assessment of the future impact, and not the result of investments that have already been made. London relies on public funding for industries it sees as key to industrial growth, and intends to attract private capital by expanding the capabilities of two development institutions.
