In Baku, a framework agreement for cooperation in the creation and development of the economic observatory was signed between the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan and the Spanish University ie. The document was signed by the Deputy Minister of Economy Samed Beshirli and the senior president of the University ie Santiago Iñez Onsuno.
The agreement provides joint economic research and analysis in the areas of economic diversification, increasing productivity and strengthening competitiveness, as well as promoting dialogue between government, business and academia.
As part of the activity of the Economic Observatory, it is planned to investigate trends in economic development, factors affecting future growth, conduct economic monitoring and international comparisons. The research agenda will be determined jointly, taking into account the economic priorities of Azerbaijan and the academic experience of the University ie.
