Azerbaijan is implementing comprehensive economic reforms aimed at improving the business environment, strengthening the role of the private sector and expanding opportunities for international cooperation. These efforts contribute to economic diversification. This is what the adviser of the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, Hossein Husinov, said in the business dialogue "Entrepreneurs are undervalued diplomats in a divided world", held as part of the Seventh World Forum for Intercultural Dialogue "Dialogue for a Common Future".
The minister's adviser said that in the first nine months of the year, the share of the non-oil and gas sector in GDP exceeded 70%: "One of the latest examples demonstrating Azerbaijan's commitment to developing international investment partnerships was the Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, which was held in Baku last month. With a focus on restoring trust and strengthening regional connectivity, the forum served as a significant platform for dialogue between government representatives, investors and business leaders. "Within the framework of the forum, 23 documents on cooperation and investment were signed, covering projects in the amount of 10.8 million dollars. The next important step is to ensure the transformation of the agreements reached into specific projects, and at the same time create opportunities for local business entities to participate in their implementation, including as suppliers of goods and services." Hossein Husinov noted that regional organizations also have an important role in strengthening ties between business communities: "Working groups on small and medium enterprises and business councils create valuable platforms for dialogue between business representatives and government agencies. For example, Azerbaijan acts as the coordinating country of the Small and Medium Enterprises Working Group of the Black Sea Economic Organization 202.
