From its commissioning on October 26, 2023 to October 1, 2026, the 230 MW Gaon Solar Power Plant produced 1.488.0 million kWh of electricity, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan reports. The 550-hectare facility, equipped with 570,000 solar panels, became Azerbaijan's first major international investment project in the renewable energy sector and plays a central role in the country's transition to green energy.
