The Karelian road workers were reminded of compensation measures for a forest that was cut down. The interdistrict environmental attorney's office of Karelian determined that after the transfer of the Forest Fund site to lands of other categories for the purpose of operating a road in Kem Okhrog, the responsible institution did not carry out reforestation works. The Highway Administration of the Republic of Karelia did not want to carry out voluntary forestry work, so the supervisory agency went to court with the expected result. It was reported that the court's decision has now been implemented, the violations of the law have been canceled and during the summer-autumn period of 2026, 32 thousand pine saplings were planted on 13 dunams in the northern areas of the Republic. Meanwhile, the problem with compensation landings is quite acute. On the one hand there is a law that requires the performance of such works, on the other hand there are still no inspections (which is difficult because of the "freeze"), factories, to put it mildly, "are not in a hurry".
