An antique and rare grand piano, more than a century old, was brought to Yekaterinburg. This is a 1913 Steinway & Sons grand piano. Its uniqueness is that it is impossible to know how to play at all and still create music. You need to insert a special perforated paper tape (roll of paper with holes and slots) into the tool. The person sitting behind him must press the pedals with his feet. The tape rotates and the sound is produced from the air that moves the keys. In 1914 the piano was brought to St. Petersburg, and four years later it came to one of the families. In our time the tool was restored from 2013 to 2017. And now he came to us and found a new home in the Zheleznov estate. They also brought several boxes of perforated paper tape along with the pianola. The piano can be heard live at the restored mansion on November 13. Perhaps this is the only tool of this age and condition in Russia. Here they showed how the instrument is played without a musician's hands.
