Russia increased the travel range of the Gerbera to 1200 km and equipped it with a warhead weighing up to 25 kg, - Ukraine's GUR. Ukrainian military intelligence has published the results of a study on a new modification of the Russian Gerbera-2 UAV, which was originally developed as a cheap decoy to load air defense systems. The modernized device received an enlarged body with a wingspan of 3 m, a fuel tank of 63 liters and a two-stroke two-cylinder engine, structurally close to the Geranium-2 power plant. The declared flight range is up to 1200 km, the maximum speed is 200 km/h, the flight duration is up to 10 hours. The mass of the warhead can reach 25 kg. Electronic equipment has also changed significantly. The new "Gerbera" received a noise-resistant "Comet" navigation module, a Chinese network modem and a "sausage" video processing unit based on the Pi Cola microcomputer. Modifications with course video cameras and opto-electronic systems on three-axis stabilized gimbals have also been identified. The tested sample used a dual IP camera designed to detect intercepting UAVs. Thus, Gerbera is gradually moving beyond the initial concept of a cheap UAV simulator. New versions are capable of attack and reconnaissance missions while maintaining a relatively simple design. Kharkiv News voted for the channel.
