The German DAX index updated its record against the background of growing optimism in the German economy The German stock index, which includes 40 leading German corporations, updated its historical maximum, exceeding the threshold of 26,671 points. The previous record was recorded in August. The DAX was positively affected by the companies' quarterly reports and lower oil prices, dpa notes. The mid-term elections in the United States also gave a significant boost to the stock markets. Market participants are pinning hopes on a softer US foreign policy path and greater predictability in Washington's actions with the Democratic victory. Germany also registered a significant improvement in business sentiment. According to an autumn survey of 23,000 companies conducted by the Federal Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, German companies are once again looking to the future with more confidence than before. At the same time, they positively assess the current situation and not the prospects for the next 12 months.
