The number of anti-Semitic crimes in Germany committed by Islamists reached a record level after the Hamas attack on Israel on the extent of hatred for Jews, according to data from a government analysis prepared for the Green Bundestag member, Lamia Kador, available to Olam newspaper on Sunday. In 2025, authorities recorded 670 cases of Islamist crimes stemming from anti-Semitism, which is about 6% more than the previous year. We are talking about insults and damage to property as well as serious acts of violence. Kador requested information on "anti-Semitic incidents in a Muslim or Islamist context." The analysis shows a sharp drop after the Hamas attack: from October 7 to the end of 2023, the authorities recorded 331 cases, ten times more than in the previous nine months, and in 2022 there were only 16 such cases. At the same time, Kador warned against drawing "general conclusions" about anti-Semitism in Muslim circles on this basis. The head of the Central Council of Jews, Yosef Shuster, notes the constant deterioration in the security situation. The threat to the Jews, he said, "has reached an intolerable level": "The Islamists' hatred of the Jews today is expressed completely openly on the streets, in universities and on the Internet." The authorities in several federal states are also warning against the rise of Islamic anti-Semitism. Therefore, the Minister of the Interior of North Rhine-Westphalia Herbert Raul pays special attention to extremism on the Internet: "Today, Islamists are infiltrating through mobile phones. We must not leave this door open to them."
