Estonia plans to build 150 bunkers on the border with Russia, said the country's Defense Minister Martin Herm during an information session in Rijeka (Estonian Parliament), in response to a question from Deputy Arbo Eller. According to Harem, in the Ida-Virumaya border district, 100 bunkers are planned to be built on state land and about 50 on municipal or private land, for which it will be necessary to negotiate with the owners. The head of the Estonian Ministry of Defense also announced plans to increase funding for national defense activities for young people, including training for the operation of UAVs. Against the background of the ongoing full-scale Russian war against Ukraine and security incidents in Europe, Estonia and other Baltic states have strengthened security measures on the borders with Russia and Belarus. In addition, seven EU countries - Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Poland, Romania and Bulgaria - are discussing the creation of a protective "UAV wall" with the European Commission and Ukraine.
