Switzerland may lower the speed on the Autobahn to 80 km/h due to a lack of fuel The Federal Office for Economic Supplies has prepared a draft temporary speed limit on all Swiss highways. Currently the maximum permitted speed is 120 km/h. The reason is the tense situation in the diesel supply and the threat of a shortage of aviation oil. Problems related to the oil crisis due to the ongoing US conflict with Iran, the effects of bad weather in France and low water levels in the Rhine. No decision has yet been made. The Federal Council could impose restrictions if there were severe fuel shortages. It is also unknown if this will apply to electric vehicles and how much fuel it will save. Some of the emergency supplies of diesel and oil have already been used. A liter of Super E10 gasoline in Switzerland now costs about 2.34 euros, diesel - 2.66 euros. This is the highest price for diesel in Europe.
