The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sibiga, commented on media reports about the promotion of the candidacy of the former Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, for the position of Secretary General of the United Nations of the American administration. Sibiga believes that, in the event of such an appointment, Orban will use "his excellent veto and blackmail skills, which he has honed over the years, while disrupting important decisions of the European Union." The Ukrainian diplomat jokingly mentioned the invitation of the former prime minister of Hungary "to coffee" - the case when, at the EU summit in 2023, then German Chancellor Olaf Schulz asked Orbán to leave the meeting hall, which allowed the leaders to approve the start of negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU without Budapest's veto. Let's recall, according to the "Wall Street Journal", the US President's administration is allegedly promoting Orban's candidacy for the position of UN Secretary General, while counting on the support of China and the Russian Federation.
