🔶 Syria denied the reports of sending Syrian forces to Yemen.
On Saturday (November 7th), the Syrian government denied reports of plans to send thousands of its military forces to Saudi Arabia and Yemen to participate in the war against the Houthis supported by the Islamic Republic.
A Syrian diplomatic source told the state news agency Sanaa that Damascus has no plans to send military forces to Yemen and that the reports published in this regard are baseless.
This position was released after several Yemeni military and government officials told AFP that thousands of Syrian troops were about to be sent to Yemen to support Saudi Arabia and the Riyadh-backed government.
According to three Yemeni military sources and a security source, hundreds of Syrian forces have already been deployed on both sides of the border between Saudi Arabia and Yemen. An official close to Yemen's Presidential Council also announced that Damascus and Riyadh have reached an agreement on the deployment of approximately three thousand Syrian military forces to participate in the operation against the Houthis.
